<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">I was reading Vivianna Does Makeup's <a href="http://www.viviannadoesmakeup.com/tarte-tarte-and-more-tarte/">Tarte, Tarte, and More Tarte</a>, when I remembered: <i>wait, I love Tarte products too!</i> So I rushed over to Sephora's website and discovered <a href="http://www.sephora.com/maracuja-cheek-tint-P382565?skuId=1565795">this gem</a> on sale <b>for $10</b>.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">I'm pretty sure it's being discontinued, but to me this looks like one of those seriously misunderstood products.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">This is meant to be a cheek <i>stain.</i> Not just a typical blush. From reviews I've read, you use a tiny dot, blend quickly, and the sheer color will stain your cheeks and last all day. This cheek stain meets a lot of my requirements for loving a product: minimal packaging (with a pump to boot), long-lasting, cream/liquid formula, highly pigmented, and natural-looking.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">I just finished ordering mine and wanted to share before this beautiful product goes out of stock. I got mine in Sheer Red, but it also comes in Light Pink and Light Nectar. Which color do you think would suit you best?</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">This product is probably going to reignite my love for Tarte (I already have my eye on <a href="http://www.sephora.com/lipsurgence-matte-lip-tint-P266116?skuId=1261155">this</a>, <a href="http://www.sephora.com/pure-maracuja-oil-P376726?skuId=1468438">this</a>, and <a href="http://www.sephora.com/amazonian-clay-waterproof-cream-eyeshadow-P310015?skuId=1404656">this</a>) and I'm looking forward to some new finds.</span><br />

<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjzVyeN59Bz-h9wDslMn4k-n_BfUrih6XOWg3AOyzkHjxCB1bBWk7vKLqPF1xZdfMi1xpUUFd_YsP-_e_Al6kprQ5b2c8qZ1BPC4Luc-s_qKtfSD46rXaFHA9A3u9IsBWDw3t6mBqNUHap1/s1600/african-american-woman-washing-face.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjzVyeN59Bz-h9wDslMn4k-n_BfUrih6XOWg3AOyzkHjxCB1bBWk7vKLqPF1xZdfMi1xpUUFd_YsP-_e_Al6kprQ5b2c8qZ1BPC4Luc-s_qKtfSD46rXaFHA9A3u9IsBWDw3t6mBqNUHap1/s400/african-american-woman-washing-face.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
My skincare philosophy is simple: problematic skin is sensitive skin.</div>
<br />
No matter what issue you suffer from - acne, rosacea, psoriasis, dehydration, enlarged pores, hyperpigmentation, premature aging - it is important to remember that there is a cause behind these issues. The only way to eliminate your skincare as a potential culprit is to use skincare built for sensitivities.<br />
<br />
Below are my five tips to be sensitive to your skin.<br />
<br />
<a name='more'></a><br /><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">1. Do not use scrubs</span><br />
Just don't. Ever again. Scrubs do not clean your skin any deeper than other cleansers. They just scratch the surface. Scrubs are also the harshest form of exfoliation and can worsen acne and redness. If you want to exfoliate your skin use a toner or moisturizer with lactic acid (most gentle), glycolic acid, or salicylic acid (least gentle, but most effective on acne).<br />
<br />
<span style="font-size: large;">2. Cleanse gently, but thoroughly</span><br />
This is the same idea as not using scrubs, but you need to be even gentler to your skin than just avoiding those destructive beads. I also recommend generally avoiding anything that foams. Even if you have oily skin, it's better to cleanse your skin with a milk or balm consistency, then use salicylic acid to prevent pimples and benzoyl peroxide as a spot treatment. These won't exacerbate other problems with your skin (when used appropriately). I personally prefer balm cleansers like the <a href="http://cascadingkatie.blogspot.com/2013/09/boots-botanics-hot-cloth-cleansing-balm.html#more">Boots Botanics Hot Cloth Cleansing Balm</a> ($8.49 at <a href="http://www.target.com/p/botanics-organic-hot-cloth-cleansing-balm-2-3-oz/-/A-14497808">Target</a>), but the shea butter in this one is not recommended for acne-prone skin. Try the <a href="http://www.clinique.com/product/1673/6424/Skincare/Cleansers_Makeup_Removers/Take-The-Day-Off-Cleansing-Balm/index.tmpl">Clinique Take the Day Off Cleansing Balm</a>.<br />
<br />
<span style="font-size: large;">3. Eat Gently</span><br />
Avoid food that doesn't sit well in your system. For everyone, this means sugar and artificial chemicals like aspartame and MSG. This will surely make acne-prone skin get more spots, and will hold back recovery for any other kind of skin problem.<br />
For those of us lucky enough to have food sensitives, these foods will hurt your skin in addition to your digestion. I find my skin is at its best when I've been keeping up my gluten-free, lactose-free diet. (Yes, I am intolerant of both. Yes, your life is better than mine.)<br />
<br />
<span style="font-size: large;">4. Avoid Fragrance (to the best of your ability)</span><br />
As someone who hates artificial fragrances just on the smell alone, I know how difficult it is to get an entire skincare regime that is fragrance-free. I suggest doing your best, but if a skincare product has a very light, non-offensive fragrance, it is less likely to irritate your skin.<br />
<br />
<span style="font-size: large;">5. Do Your Research</span><br />
If a product gives you a negative reaction, google some of the ingredients in it and see if any are irritants or cause allergic reactions in some people. This way, you can take note of the ingredient, avoid it in future purchases, and never have the problem again.<br />
<br />
I know how frustrating bad skin can be, but remember two things when treating these problems: people truly don't notice them as much as you think they do; and its better to find a product works slowly and gently than to find it works too harshly and causes your skin to develop new problems.<br />

<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">Fall is definitely my favorite season. It's never too hot, almost never too cold, but there's that distinct crispness to the air.</span></div>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br />
One of my beauty-related reasons to love Fall is: Fall Nail Polish. Truthfully, the shades I wear on my nails <i>year round</i> are Autumnal. I just like them better (or maybe I just want it to be Fall year-round).</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br />
So here are some nail polish options for my favorite colors this Fall.</span><br />

<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">I've been thinking a lot lately about travel - where I want to travel to, what I to see when I'm there - and it got me thinking about all the beauty products I would want to pick up abroad. I constantly read product picks from bloggers in countries other than the US and I've developed a pretty long wish list. Here are a few:</span><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg9zu1ELWBrmX7whm16_Ex0VCs5iGg24kqcydzzbEEHge8Gxx1sa1XXQgBqlP_rz3GNhVBLW0s8bgV51W94wZaRxJE4D8mGYUSNcg4IBEGU0_vrQrOMLOeaIFyAmyb1x6X71-ICHo8HAWIj/s1600/Slide2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg9zu1ELWBrmX7whm16_Ex0VCs5iGg24kqcydzzbEEHge8Gxx1sa1XXQgBqlP_rz3GNhVBLW0s8bgV51W94wZaRxJE4D8mGYUSNcg4IBEGU0_vrQrOMLOeaIFyAmyb1x6X71-ICHo8HAWIj/s640/Slide2.jpg" width="426" /></a></div>

<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"></span><br />
<a name='more'></a><span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><b>& Other Stories Face Contour Cream </b>I don't just want this. I think about it regularly. I hate powder in any form - translucent, bronzing, blush - I prefer to use all cream formulations on my face. There are very few cream bronzers on the market, and this is one of <i>two </i>that I have found that is actually a good color for contouring. Other cream bronzers are just too orange. Available in <a href="http://www.stories.com/Beauty/Make-up/Base/Face_Contour_Cream/590641-547192.1">& Other Stories</a> (price varies between currencies).</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><b>Pixi Glow Tonic </b>There just aren't any affordable toners in US drugstores that have a good exfoliating acid in them. My skincare routine is definitely missing a good exfoliating toner - preferably with glycolic acid. This one fits the bill. Available only in the Pixi Flagship Store in London (22a Fouberts Place) for 16 pounds. Picture from <a href="http://www.beautymouth.com/2012/11/pixi-glow-tonic-p50-dupe.html">Beauty Mouth</a>.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><b>Barry M Gelly Nail Paints in Red Black, Nude, Mint Green, Indigo</b> Nail polishes can be very affordable if you find a good formula and I've heard great things about the Barry M polishes. They also come in a great range of colors. I'm especially interested to see if Red Black is a color dupe for Essie's Wicked. Available in UK drugstores for 3 pounds.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><b>La Roche-Posay Effaclar Duo </b>La Roche-Posay is available in some US drugstores, but the Effaclar duo formulation is made with benzoyl peroxide in the US and salicylic acid in the rest of the world. This makes it two completely different products (spot treatment vs. all-over-face treatment). Available in <a href="http://www.laroche-posay.fr/france/beaute/accueil-h.aspx">French pharmacies</a> and <a href="http://www.laroche-posay.com/default_int.aspx">many other countries</a>.</span><br />
<b><span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span></b>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><b>Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum </b>Bourjois is available pretty much everywhere besides the US (if you're near Canada, this could be easy to get) and I've heard great things about this foundation and its effect on normal to dry skin. Available in drugstores in many countries, price varies.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><b>MaxFactor Miracle Touch Creamy Blush </b>Cream blush might be my favorite makeup product. Yes, that does mean more than mascara. These cream blushes have rave reviews in terms of the formula, comes in four beautiful looking shades, and has very minimal packaging. Right up my alley. Available in <a href="http://maxfactor-international.com/country-selector">a lot</a> of countries.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><b>Bioderma Sebium Pore Refiner </b>This seems like a great base under makeup for someone like me with combination skin. I would use this in anywhere I get blemishes or enlarged pores and would help even out my skin so foundation sits right. Bioderma is available in French pharmacies.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><b>Bioderma Crealine H2O </b>The famous micellaire solution that is hypoallergenic, fragrance-free, and <i>thourough.</i> The makeup remover for every woman, but only available in French pharmacies.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">That's my wishlist and I've now added my eight more reasons to travel very soon. Hopefully this was the final push I needed to get across the pond.</span><br />

<br />
<span style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: large;">TED Talks</span></span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">Remember when TED Talks were all the rage two years ago? Or maybe that was just my experience: I was a college freshman and newly-empowered teenagers <i>love</i> showing their friends things that make them look smart for having discovered it.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">I remember my friends showed me bands that were <i>too obscure for me to know</i>, their favorite directors (because knowing anyone besides the cast in a movie is <i>very impressive</i>), </span><span style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif;">how race relations could be summed up in a <i>pithy yet </i></span><i style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif;">poignant meme</i><span style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif;">, </span><span style="font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', sans-serif;">and the best TED Talks.</span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">I bought in completely to the TED Talk craze. I didn't spend as many hours pouring over TED Talks as some of my college colleagues, but I did really enjoy the ones I did watch. I found my favorites and I would look up the speaker, make note of his or her book (almost every speaker had written at least one book) and add it to my amazon cart to buy and read later.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"></span><br />
<a name='more'></a></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">The funny (not surprising) thing is I never got around to buying or reading any of those books. Not one. Even though I spent a good deal of time pondering the most inspirational ones. I even rewatched a few to remember every key point because TED Talks are a very distilled form of that person's research, so you must remember every detail they've given in their talk.</span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">But then why didn't I ever purchase a book or find any concrete way to delve into the subject further?</span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">Because TED Talks represent the way our generation approaches intellectual topics. We don't want to invest any significant amount of time in one area. We get distracted far too easily. We want to move onto the next topic, the next discussion, the next political controversy, the next meme, the newest app, the other tumblr, the TED Talk that comes next in the playlist.</span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">We don't focus our attention on any one subject for too long. Don't get me wrong though. There is definitely merit in becoming a person who is well-versed in a variety of subjects. A holistic approach to life's intellectual bounty ensures that our perspective doesn't become too narrow.</span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">But are we really learning very much about the history of racism, an innovative new search engine, the value of spiritual empathy, or how capitalism affects everyday decisions by watching a 10-20 minute speech on the subject - engaging as that speaker may be?</span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">I'm not trying to disparage anyone who enjoys watching TED Talks, or anyone who believes they are a valid introduction to a topic that was previously unknown to most viewers. I agree. They are. However, that is all TED Talks are: an introduction.</span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">TED Talks are still a great way to discover topics most of us didn't even know existed; or to explore topics that are outside of our own area of research; or to approach something familiar from a new perspective. When you watch TED Talks though, please remember, the speaker is doing their best to convey years of learning in a few minutes, <i>but that's impossible</i>. The knowledge gained from a speech will never replace the knowledge gained from dedicated research.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">The next time you watch a TED Talk and it feels infinitely inspirational, note whether or not it actually influences your decision making and is a topic you look further into. True inspiration will change your behavior, not just keep you stimulated until the speech is over.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">I'm going to keep watching TED Talks, but more importantly, I am going to keep learning for the rest of my life. Whether TED Talks prove to be a passing fad or not.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">Katie</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">PS A very cynical (and slightly racist) but funny article about <a href="http://stuffwhitepeoplelike.com/2010/09/08/134-the-ted-conference/">why white people like TED Talks</a>. My favorite TED Talk is below. It's definitely worth a watch, and I promise it will keep you entertained.</span><br />

<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span><span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">I wanted to do a quick review of this lip stick because it's one of those random products that I own that I have heard nothing about on the internet. It was a gift from a friend and she doesn't have the unhealthy obsession that I have with beauty blogs, but she does see how I wear my makeup. So she chose a product I've never heard of, but she nailed the color choice. It is definitely my favorite shade in my possession.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">I was trying to swatch it, but the pictures I took didn't do it justice. It's a very purple lipstick, but it works for someone with light cool tone skin like me, and I imagine it would greater for deeper skintones as well. Plus, the blue undertone makes your teeth look really white.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">It's sort of a cross between a jumbo lip pencil and a lipstick with a very matte and long-lasting finish. It's an automatic roll-up with a built-in sharpener in the bottom making the application very simple and precise.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">This is not a particularly moisturizing or easy to apply product. It's the kind of lipstick that takes a few minutes to get on in the morning, but the result is a bold, long-lasting color that only requires touch ups after eating. My perfect formula.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">It retails for $19 at <a href="http://www.sephora.com/buxom-full-on-lip-stick-P243804?skuId=1195643">Sephora</a>, but you can get it in various shades in value kits (Barcelona in <a href="http://www.sephora.com/buxom-red-hot-set-P382114?skuId=1547975">this one</a>). I've got my eye on Tokyo and Havana, but I doubt any shade will ever live up to Shanghai.</span><br />

<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><b><a href="http://www.sephora.com/glycol-lactic-radiance-renewal-mask-P203616">REN Glycol Lactic Radiance Renewal Mask</a> </b>Obviously, I need to go pick up some skin care products. My skin was so dehydrated recently, I forgot to incorporate exfoliating, pore cleaning products into my routine. I tried a sample, and now I'm hooked on the gentle, yet thorough abilities of combining both AHAs into one mask. Perfect. $55</span><br />

<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif; font-size: large;">Boots Botanics Hot Cloth Cleansing Balm</span></div>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">If you're like me and you're obsessed with British beauty bloggers, then you'll see two kinds of cleansers pop up as favorites over theirs over and over: hot cloth cleansers and cleansing balms. So, you can imagine my excitement when out searching for one or the other and I found this beauty which is a <i>combination of both</i>. It's like the stars aligned in Target for me that day.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"></span><br />
<a name='more'></a><span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">This is a dupe for many of the more popular cleansing balms like <a href="http://www.emmahardie.com/product.php?xProd=6&xSec=2">Emma Hardie</a> and <a href="http://www.clinique.com/product/1673/6424/Skincare/Cleansers_Makeup_Removers/Take-The-Day-Off-Cleansing-Balm/index.tmpl">Clinique</a> <i>and </i>it was on sale when I was in Target a couple weeks ago. Even when it's not on sale though, it's quite a bargain at <a href="http://www.target.com/p/botanics-organic-hot-cloth-cleansing-balm-2-3-oz/-/A-14497808#prodSlot=medium_3_17">Target online for $8.49</a> (far better than Clinique at $28.50 or Emma Hardie for even more).</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">For those of you unfamiliar with cleansing balms, you apply a small amount to dry skin, thoroughly massage your face, and wipe it off with a damp wash cloth or muslin cloth (which is included). I then proceed on to toner (my toner of choice at the moment: <a href="http://www.target.com/p/boots-expert-sensitive-gentle-refreshing-toner-6-7-oz/-/A-12734668">Boots Expert Sensitive Toner</a>).</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">The question is: does it really work? And the answer is yes. I have personally never tried the cult Emma Hardie Cleansing Balm, but I can tell you the Boots Botanics works great. It disolves all my makeup better than any gel cleanser I've ever used, and it's gentle on my dehydrated skin. And from a look at the ingredients lists of the Boots and the Emma Hardie, they're pretty similar.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><b>Emma Hardie Moringa Cleansing Balm</b></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">Ingredients: Grape Seed Oil, Sweet Almond Oil, Capric Triglyceride, Cetearyl Alcohol, Beeswax, Capric Glycerides, Almond Glycerides, Sorbitan Stearate, Stearic Triglycerides, Limonene, Orange Peel Oil, Silica, Bergamot Fruit Oil, Glycerin, Phenoxyethanol, Benzyl Alcohol, Bitter Orange Flower Oil, Juniperus Virginiana Oil, Water, Lecithin, Linalool, Butylene Glycol, Octyldodecyl PCA, Menthyl PCA, Tocopherol, Ascorbyl Palmitate, Crithmum Maritimum Extract, Sunflower Seed Oil, Jasmine Flower Oil, Geraniol, Moringa Pterygosperma Seed Extract, Farnesol, Rosa Damascena Flower Oil, Disodium Phosphate, Citral, Citric Acid, Citronellol</span><br />
<span style="background-color: #faf0db; font-family: 'Times New Roman', sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><b>Boots Botanics Hot Cloth Cleansing Balm (97% Organic)</b></span><span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">Ingredients: Olive Fruit Oil*, Jojoba Seed Oil*, Beeswax*, Shea Butter*, Sweet Almond Oil*, Cetearyl alcohol, Rosa Canina Seed Oil*, Limonene, Citronellol, Pelargonium graveolens flower oil, Citrus aurantium dulcis peel extract*, Linalool, Bergamot fruit oil, Lemon peel oil, Geraniol, Fragrance, Citral</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">*Certified organic</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">There are a few qualities to note of the Boots Botanics Cleansing Balm: first, it's 97% organic. The only one on the market I've found that can boast such a claim. Second, it contains Shea Butter, which is great for dry skin but makes it a potential problem for acne-prone skin because Shea Butter sits on top of the skin. As someone who is prone to acne, I don't worry too much about this because I take the cleanser off thoroughly and I follow up my cleanse with a toner, so I doubt it's clogging any pores. Not to mention my acne has <i>gotten better</i> since using this cleanser. (Full disclaimer: I don't have horrific acne, just frequent little spots.)</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">Also, this product does contain fragrance, so it may not be suitable for sensitive skin. If you have sensitive skin, then look into the <a href="http://www.clinique.com/product/1673/6424/Skincare/Cleansers_Makeup_Removers/Take-The-Day-Off-Cleansing-Balm/index.tmpl">Clinique Take The Day Off Cleansing Balm</a> (<a href="http://www.beautymouth.com/2013/07/clinique-take-day-off-cleansing-balm.html">ingredients list here</a>).</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">All in all, I HIGHLY recommend this product. Bottom line: it's the only affordable cleansing balm I've found and it does a great job.</span><br />

<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><img height="260" id="irc_mi" src="http://www.makeupgeek.com/wp-content/uploads/mac-lipstick1.jpg" style="margin-top: 21px;" width="320" /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif; font-size: large;">Dupes for MAC Lipsticks</span></div>
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br />
I am a firm believer that you shouldn't pay a lot for makeup. Expensive makeup is 75-100% about nice packaging. This is why I love dupes. It proves that inexpensive makeup is every bit as a good as high end makeup to the point where a dupe can <i>literally give you the same look</i> as its high end counterpart.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br />
I avoid buying lipstick from department stores or Sephora, but it is so tempting when you can try on the color right there. Much more useful than squinting at different stickers with huge numbers on them trying to determine whether "True Red" or "Reddest Red" will suit your skin better. When this method - this ineffectual method - inevitably fails, you may end up spending more money finding the right lipstick at the drugstore than if you had just bought the right one at a counter. Unbelievably frustrating.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br />
Thus, I made this list for myself and now I'm sharing it with you: a list of over 50 MAC lipstick dupes. These are compiled from various blogs and YouTube channels. Most of them are from the bubbly <a href="http://www.youtube.com/user/Melmphs">Melissa Raymond (aka Melmphs)</a> and the knowledgable <a href="http://www.youtube.com/user/emilynoel83/featured">Emily Noel</a> (<a href="http://www.beautybroadcast.net/">her blog</a>) who are both amazing YouTube beauty gurus with phenomenal channels. The rest are from other YouTubers and bloggers, which I will link at the end.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br />
<b>My Suggested Method</b></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">The best way to use this list to save money is to go to a counter where you can try on the lipstick and find a shade that you like that has been duped. This is why I made the list compact and alphabetical. So its easy to see on your phone or print up, and its easy to see if the color has a dupe. Never waste money on a high end lipstick or a lipstick you don't like again.</span><br />

<div class="MsoNormal">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">As an avid YouTube watcher, I know the frustration that can
ensue when you love someone’s style and taste and trust her opinion, but it
seems like you can’t afford any of the makeup she’s recommending.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>Or, you don’t have a beauty channel so you’re
just not going to spend as much as her on makeup.<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">That’s why I’ve made this concise list of some makeup
staples that are comparable to high end – or even just more expensive drugstore
makeup.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>Because “drugstore makeup” sounds
“budget friendly” but if you want to purchase a few different products, you’ll
notice how $10 lipsticks and $8 liners can add up fast.<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">So here, for you and your wallet, are five of some of the
cheapest but best makeup products around.<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<br />
<a name='more'></a><br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<o:p><span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span></o:p></div>

<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><b>Wet N Wild Color Icon Eyeshadow: Walking on Eggshells Trio</b><o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">Wet N Wild eye shadows are the best and least expensive out
there.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>If you want a small palette of
well-coordinated, nicely pigmented, shimmery, high quality eye shadows then
definitely look to Wet N Wild.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>Trios are
$2.99, Eight-pans are $4.99, and Single Shadows are $1.99.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>All are an absolute bargain, and you can
create any look you want (besides a matte one) from the color selection. My
personal favorite is the Walking on Eggshells Trio.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>It creates a beautiful everyday look that
will suit most pale skin tones.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>Go look
at the selection and find what’s best for you; the resulting look will be what
you expect from how the shadows look in the pan.<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: center;">

<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><b>Jordana Fabuliner in 01 Black</b><o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">I got this recommendation from the vivacious personalities
of EleventhGorgeous.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>They too have an
affinity for cheap makeup, and they endlessly recommend this liquid liner from
Jordana. First of all, it’s $1.99. That’s significantly cheaper than any high
end liner and most drugstore liners.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;">
</span>Second of all, <i style="mso-bidi-font-style: normal;">it works.</i><span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>It’s a felt tip – ideal for beginners – and
it has a shape that makes both thin and thick lines achievable.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>Also, a bonus for those of you who are
liner-challenged like me: it takes a few seconds for it to dry, so if you mess up
it’s easy to wipe your mistake away.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>But
once it dries, it’s not moving.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>This
liner ticks all the boxes.</span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><img border="0" height="200" src="http://wnwbeauty.com/uploadFiles/1334412756714.jpg" width="137" /></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: center;">
<b><span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">Wet N Wild Color Icon Brow & Eye Liner in Taupe</span></b></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">Let me clarify my recommendation: these are not particularly
good eye liners.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>They do have a great
color selection, but they’re pretty mediocre around the eyes. Primarily because
they smudge.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>If that doesn’t bother you,
then they are still a good value at $.99.<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">The reason I am so excited about this liner is its use as a
brow liner.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>The trouble with brow liner
is most liners aren’t cool-toned enough to work for most people’s brow color. I
had been hearing from blogs and vlogs that most people use high end brands like
Anastasia and Dior, whose liners cost upward of $20.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>Way too much.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;">
</span>This liner is the perfect solution.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;">
</span>It’s blendable, easy to apply, has a ton of product, and most
importantly comes in the perfect shades.<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">I have light brown hair and use Taupe, which is probably
also suitable for blondes with dark brows or dark brunettes with light brows.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>I also believe the color Dark Brown should
work well for those of you with darker eyebrows.<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: center;">
<o:p><span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><img height="200" id="irc_mi" src="http://i.beautylish.co/aO6Ta5rFZ3Hp-tMQkB0VAwEKAlg/bb_p-fa/wet-n-wild-mega-volume-mascara.jpg" style="margin-top: 55px;" width="200" /></span></o:p></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><b>Wet N Wild MegaVolume Mascara</b><o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">Mascara is the one product I would never consider buying
high end.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>When I was 15 a friend told me
to get Urban Decay Big Fatty Mascara and I remember solemnly handing my twenty
dollar bill to the clerk, sad to see my earnings from my chores go so
quickly.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>I wish I had known then what I
know now: drugstore mascaras are every bit as good as high end mascaras.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>It’s just a matter of finding the one you
like: dry or wet, buildable or one coat, thickening or lengthening, natural or
bold.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>There are plenty of duds, but far
more winners.<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">My recommendation thus, is one that is very cheap but gets
the job done: Wet N Wild MegaVolume. (Can you tell I like Wet N Wild?) It’s
black, thickening, lengthening, doesn’t flake, doesn’t smudge, clump-free,
buildable, lasts all day, but isn’t difficult to remove. Not to mention it’s
$2.99.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>It won’t give you as much drama
as with other mascaras, but it can give you a great natural look.<o:p></o:p></span></div>

<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;"><b>Rimmel Kate Moss Lipstick</b><o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">I am OBSESSED with this lipstick.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>It comes in two finishes: Lasting and Matte.
Both are great, non-drying, flattering formulas.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>It comes in a variety of great colors: nude,
pink, berry, red.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>I tend to buy bolder
lipsticks, but this collection offers a variety that I’m sure anyone could find
a great color from. (Checkout swatches from the <a href="http://www.beautezine.com/rimmel-kate-moss-lasting-finish-matte-lipsticks-review-photos-swatches/">Matte Collection</a>.) Not to mention they retail for around $5-6.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>And when you buy lipstick like I do, that
definitely makes a difference over $10 lipsticks from Revlon or L’Oreal.<o:p></o:p></span></div>

<span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS, sans-serif;">There it is! Five Cheap Makeup Staples I swear by. In all
